I have always believed that doctors are uniquely placed to identify problems and see opportunities to improve healthcare. I founded this society to provide a home for all those clinicians who wish to use their training, experience, and skills to make an impact at scale in healthcare. Such a home has been missing and I hope its creation will encourage more entrepreneurship and innovation and see it recognised as a legitimate complement or alternative to clinical work.

ENDORSEMENT

Support from leading medical entrepreneurs & innovators

“As someone that has chosen a career in health entrepreneurship over clinical medicine, I am excited to launch ASME as a much needed service to help clinicians understand the full breadth of career options in front of them”

Dr Mike Caristo
Co-founder Genesis Capital

“Medicine and healthcare in Australia must embrace the power of enterprise and the private sector in order to optimise outcomes for the community. This has not been done adequately in Australia to date, so ASME offers a critical opportunity to grow a community of individuals who will ultimately deliver better outcomes locally and around the world”

Professor Vlado Perkovic
Dean of Medicine UNSW

"ASME is a great initiative for medical graduates and doctors who would like to become entrepreneurs and impact healthcare at scale."

Dr Ben Hurst

Professor Fiona Wood AM

“The new Australian Society of Medical Entrepreneurs provides a wonderful platform not only for relevant information in this emerging discipline but collegiality, networks and mentorship, especially valuable for clinicians who are entering this field.”

Dr Grant Blashki
